Happy New Year! I know I have been MIA but its been for a pretty good reason. I am in the honeymoon phase of a new relationship so most of my free time has been spent with my boyfriend 🙂 Its been great because I haven’t been this happy in a long time but as a result, I have been slacking with posts. I won’t apologize for finding happiness but I do plan on managing my time wisely this year. I have come up with a list of things I want to achieve for 2020 which I will touch on in a minute but everything included on my list aren’t goals to change myself completely as much as they are to improve the foundation that has already been set because I like who I am becoming and don’t need to do a complete 180 in order to see results.
I am using my 2020 goals as a way of tightening up and instead of putting specific dates on all of my goals, I am using the new year as a starting point where I can reevaluate what has worked so far and adjust accordingly by adding specific requirements in order to achieve goals. I joined the gym last year but haven’t been working out and one of the reasons was because I didn’t have a specific goal in mind. I wanted to lose weight but I wasn’t sure how much and I knew that I would have to have healthier eating habits in order to achieve any lasting results. My goal in 2020 is to lose 15 pounds and tone up and in addition to working out and focusing on exercises that target the midsection, I plan on cutting out white foods (bread, rice pasta, etc) limit dairy, red meat and processed foods and my biggest addiction which is soda specifically Coke and drink more water. Anyone that knows me knows how hard this will be for me because I love my Coca Cola but I know that I have to do better to be better and this is one of the challenges that I have to overcome to get to where I need to be.
Another goal of mine is to save $$$ in 2020. I spent a lot of $$$ this holiday season but I vowed to myself that I wouldn’t spend any more $$$ on frivolous items on a regular basis. I am also looking for additional streams of income to make more money to save so back on the job hunt I go! I have many things I want to accomplish and I have seen so many tips and tricks on saving $$$ with a limited budget so why should I be any different??? I am going to work with what I currently have but at the same time, I am going to seek out other opportunities in order to get my finances to where I want them to be. There are so many things I want to do but I need the funds so I will restrict myself spending wise now to benefit from the fruits of my labor later!
Most of my goals consist of not taking the easy way out and choosing to challenge myself past my current mental and physical limits in order to become a better version of myself. There is nothing permanent in life except change so I am learning how to not only face change head on but to embrace all that comes with it! Regardless of what your New Year Resolutions/Goals are, understand that change is inevitable and necessary to get to that next level!
What are your New Year’s Resolutions? Let me know in the comments below. I’ll be back next week with a new post but until then always remember to love and live luxuriously!
