#FearlessFriday: How To Get Your Creative Juices Flowing

Good Morning! I know I said that I was going to discuss my healthy eating habits and I promise that I will get back to that…once I start eating healthy consistently that is! I’m all over the place with my good days and bad days but I am aiming for progress not perfection so once I start making some serious progress, I will be sure to share my tips and all of that. For now, I wanted to focus on something that has worked for me and that is the one thing that helped me when I was suffering from writer’s block and in need of inspiration: an idea book.

A page from my idea book…my handwriting is terrible I know lol

As I previously mentioned, I have been going to therapy for the past several months to cope with my anxiety, stress and mild depression. During one of our sessions, I told my therapist that I have felt uninspired and as a result, couldn’t think of anything to write about on here. She suggested that I purchase an idea book and write whatever comes to my mind in whatever form I wanted. Since the book was mainly to help me brainstorm, it didn’t have to be organized and structured like a planner and I didn’t have to have any particular goal in mind while writing. I can honestly say that having no restrictions when writing was such a freeing experience. I could write whatever I wanted, how I wanted and there was no wrong way to go about it. The ideas flowed easily after that. I wrote my ideas into random lists like “Amore Luxe Media Goals” and “Ideal Jobs/Careers” as well as a list of blog/video ideas based off of the ideas from the other lists. I realized I was lying when I said I didn’t have anything to write about because it was clear in those few pages that I actually did. Now I’m not saying that I have it all figured out but my idea book is a step in the right direction!

Remember that the only rule is that there are no rules so don’t feel confined to write your ideas and thoughts in a certain way. You don’t even have to call it an idea book if your book has other things in it like pictures or song lyrics that you’re working on. The point of the book is to spark your creativity and do it in a way that’s unique to you and your thought process. I bought my book for $5 bucks from a Macy’s outlet store but you can go to your local book store, Amazon.com or a specialty store where you can get a leather-bound book or an engraving if you’re fancy like that! I consider my book and the contents in it to be an extension of my personality and plan on using the ideas in it to create a new vision board. The possibilities are endless and I am so thankful to my therapist for helping me rediscover my passion and purpose through this book.

Do you have an idea book or something similar? Let me know what you use it for and how it’s helped you in the comments section below. Have a great weekend and make sure you always love and live luxuriously!

Turning Negativity into Positivity

negativevspositiveGood Afternoon! I planned on writing a “Random Thoughts” post where I was going to vent about the crappy morning I had so far and talk about what made me feel sad, insecure, bitter, envious and all of that. Then I had a conversation with one of my closest friends and she made me realize that when you have a lot of things piled on you at once, that is usually a sign that something amazing will happen in the near future and you just have to keep pushing through the struggles and handle the stress to get to where you are destined to be.  So instead of focusing on the negative which is what I would have done if I were to post my rant, I will focus on all the positive things that are going on in my life such as this new diet I am on (check out my post on it here: (https://amoreluxe.com/2015/09/07/getting-my-body-and-mind-right/) . Even though the food isn’t what I am used to eating (chicken cutlets, sweet potatoes and salads on the regular isn’t what I am used to eating) I have felt good and I have more energy because I don’t feel bloated or weighed down like I usually do. And this is only Day 5! I can’t wait to see where I am at on the 30, 60 and 90 day mark! This is the beginning of something special and I plan on making this a lifestyle change that will be beneficial to my overall health and well-being. I am also being promoted to Director at my current job starting in November so that means more responsibility but also an increase in pay which is definitely needed. This job is also related to my major so it’s a great start in helping me learn skills that will help me for future opportunities.

I have so much to be thankful for so I want to direct all of my energy on what is to come instead of the stumbling blocks that are in my way because I know I can overcome them and get to where I need to be in life. The  vision board I created is a roadmap to my destiny but at times, the goals and dreams on it seem so far-fetched but if you can dream it, you can achieve it. The biggest life lesson I have learned is that the only person standing in the way of what you want is you. Anything that I release into the world will come back to me and if its negative energy that I am releasing, I will receive it ten fold. Positive energy is more beneficial so this post is the beginning of the release of those vibes.

Thanks to everyone who supports me and all that I intend to achieve. It means more to me than you can ever imagine:) Have a great weekend!

Always remember to love and live luxuriously!

Random Thoughts Part 1

Yesterday after shooting this video, I realized I like vlogging more than regular blogging so I plan on shooting 2-3 videos per week…This is the first in a series I like to call “Random Thoughts”. Basically, its just me saying whatever is going in my mind at the time. If you want me to discuss a particular issue or topic, hit me up on here or on any of my social networks (links are on the right side of the page) and let me know…much love and stay tuned for another blog either Thursday or Friday:)

30 Days of Truth post Day 14: Something out of the ordinary that you would like to do in your life

We are one day away from the halfway point of the “30 Days of Truth” exercise and I know that it takes a lot for a person to be completely jump-2honest with themselves but I promise you that you will be a stronger and more determined individual because of it! I haven’t been posting my truths for the last few days because of some issues going on in my personal life but I will try my best to be as consistent as possible for the duration of the exercise. I decided to change a few of the questions this time around because I answered the original questions last year so instead of using the original day 14 question which is “A hero that has let you down”, I decided to create my own and talk about something out of the ordinary that I would like to do.
